After breakfast at the hotel, have a great experience visiting Cairo’s main attractions. Start with one of the biggest museums in the world. Your Egyptologist guide will explain the masterpieces of the Egyptian Museum. You will be fascinated by the largest and most famous art collection in the world. Some artifacts date back more than five millennia. The treasures of King Tutankhamun’s tomb are among the top attractions. You’ll have some free time to explore more of the museum, and you may wish to visit the Royal Mummy Room (optional with extra cost).

Next, head to the Citadel of Salah al-Din to marvel at the alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali. Learn from your guide about Islam, the mosque’s design, and its history as a fortress since the Middle Ages. Built by a Turkish architect inspired by Istanbul’s Blue Mosque, the mosque sits atop a cliff with alabaster-covered walls. It took 18 years to complete (1830–1848). Before leaving, enjoy a panoramic view of Cairo and even spot the Pyramids of Giza on clear days.

Christianity in Egypt is as old as Christianity itself. Your guide will explain this as you visit the Coptic churches, starting with the Hanging Church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Then, visit the Cavern Church, built above a cave where the Holy Family took refuge for three months while escaping King Herod. See the place where baby Jesus is believed to have slept. Continue to Ben Ezra Synagogue, one of Egypt’s oldest, dating back to the 9th century.

Finally, explore Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s oldest and biggest bazaar. Walk through its narrow alleys, feel the local warmth, and enjoy a drink at El Fishawy Café (established in 1710). Though authentic souvenirs are now rare, your guide will help you find the best spots and share bargaining tips for an enjoyable experience.
